We are not the average hostel, you'll get a confortable stay in a family friendly, international atmosphere. Between the nearby waves, sunshine-soaked surroundings and easy sense of equilibrio, Troncones Point Surf Club and Hostel has become a true paradise in Mexico. Designed to coexist with nature, the Hostel has tropical landscaping and amazing vistas. It's also completely private, with enclosed grounds and natural energy features that support the environment. We utilize a grey water system, and the latest technology in composting toilets. Manzanillo Bay rests only a few paces from the gates so you're never far from the azure Pacific. With a mere 300 feet separating you from the water, there's an endless array of surfing, boogie boarding, swimming, sea kayaking, snorkeling, body surfing, tide pooling and fishing to enjoy at your leisure. With over 12 surf breaks within an hours drive of our Troncones Hostel, you never need go far to find good surf. Beginner or seasoned veteran, there is always a break for your level. Mostly Left hand point breaks in this area, however if your looking you can find some nice rights. We offer trips to all of the surf breaks listed here in Guerrero, Mexico

With a world famous point break 500ft away and a dozen other surf spots within about an hour, many within walking distance, you never need go far in Guerrero to find some great surf.Troncones Point (Manzanillo Bay) Right out front (with a full aerial view from our common room) is 200 meters of nice, consistent left point break. Not for the beginner, this wave is speedy, with rocks and urchins inside. waves reach 15-20ft faces during some of the hurricane months, and works rarely in the winter (8ish days a month) From May till October this point rocks, it sports nice 4-8ft (or larger) faces most days (20-30 days a month!) Troncones, Guerrero, MX Beach Break Down along the town road there are 4 good places to surf, the closest being about 1/2 km away (walking distance). this can be barreling and quite heavy, (again summer months are best) needs a larger (4ft) swell to get working and peeling. Some experience is necessary as there are rocks to be aware of. La Boca, Guerrero, MexicoThe favorite winter spot, mainly accessible by 4x4, this river mouth works on a nice north swell (winter months). There are no large rocks and sports a nice sandy bottom, great for the beginner surfer, as there is a wonderful, gentle foamy area away from the main break. Further out is a great right peel reaching beautiful 8ft faces.

La Saladita Guerrero, Mexico (The Wave Machine) One of the vary famous long board waves. Frequently called "The Wave Machine" for it's consistency and gently breaking waves. This is a long boarders dream with super long left over sand and river rocks. This surf break tends to be more crowded then most of the others, but of course, there is always a reason. El Rancho Guerrero Mexico just recently made more public, this point break is barreling and can get huge in the summer (20ft+). Another super long left breaking over river rocks (booties recommended) about an hour away, we set up surf trips here regularly for our seasoned guests. And More.... Playa Linda, Escoleras, Secret Cove, Palo Alto (all within an hour.)

Here at Troncones Point Surf Club and Hostel we strive to improve the experience of our guests with a wide range of activities. Playa Manzanillo is approximately 100 feet from the NW corner of the property along the beach path, perfect for anyone's last minute holidays from OnTheBeach. From fire dancing lessons to movie night, we always have something going on for our guests to enjoy. Here are our guests favorites. Hostel FunFrom board game nights to fire poi lessons, we keep our guests engaged in our community, there is a huge library of books, games, musical instruments, and movies for your enjoyment. Movie Night. We have a movie projector and screen set up in our common space, with literally 100's of movies to choose from, you will always find something to suit your tastes. We encourage our guests to bring their favorites so we can watch them on the big screen. Please keep in mind we are a family friendly hostel, and our younger guests have priority for earlier showing hours.

TronconesTroncones is filled with activities for you to enjoy. Horseback riding and sea turtle release parties are just a regular day, and we encourage our guests to join in the amazing community of Troncones. There are custom massages and Yoga classes, as well as some amazing food. The Bus is by far the cheapest route to Troncones, MX. This should cost you around $60 MX. When you exit the airport, walk straight out to the end of the airport area and you will find a small bus stand. This bus will take you into the center of Zihuatanejo at the bus terminal. - From there look for a bus heading to Lazaro Cardenas. When you get on the bus make sure to inform the bus driver that you will be getting off in Troncones. The bus ride is about 1.5hrs. When you reach the top of the Troncones Road there is a "collectivo" shuttle that comes to the top of the road. You will stay on the bus from the top of the road down and to the RIGHT at the "T" in the road. 3k down there is bright blue "SURF HOSTEL - 200M" on the corner. Get off the bus there and walk down the road to Troncones Point Surf CLub and Hostel on the right hand side. Hitchhiking: Don't, we feel very safe in our little community, rides are given frequently in Troncones, however highway 200 is an interstate highway which means you never know where someone is from. If you have problems with the collectivo or just some help translating please call us at MX - 755-553-2886.

Respect yourself, the hostel, our staff, and the other guests. This is not a party hostel, we may have some loud games of Texas-hold'em on occasion, but if your looking for a bender and a party, I have a number of other spots to check out! If your looking for dawn patrol in glassy water without the crowds, wearing nothing but some shorts... this is for you. We are family friendly, we love our younger guests, and want to remind that they have priority on things like movie nights.
